Professur für Wirtschafts- und Sozialgeographie
Die Wirtschaftsgeographie befasst sich mit der Organisation und Entwicklung wirtschaftlicher Beziehungen in räumlicher Perspektive. Im Mittelpunkt der Forschungstätigkeit der Arbeitsgruppe stehen die drei Schwerpunkte Geographie der Dienstleistungen, Geographie des Wissens sowie Organisation und soziale Netzwerke. Wir bieten zahlreiche Lehrveranstaltungen in den Studiengängen Geographie an (Bachelor, Lehramt für Gymnasien und Master).
Die Schwerpunkte der Lehre liegen im Bereich der Wirtschaftsgeographie, der geographischen Organisationsforschung und der wirtschaftlichen Globalisierung sowie im Bereich qualitativer und quantitativer Methoden der empirischen Sozialforschung, insbesondere der sozialen Netzwerkanalyse. Gemeinsam mit der Universität Toronto gibt die Abteilung die Reihe SPACES online heraus, in der regelmäßig Arbeitspapiere aus der laufenden Forschung von Absolventen und Wissenschaftlern zur Diskussion gestellt werden.
